What Is Kontera's ContentLink?
ContentLink scans each page for both appropriate keywords and contextual relevancy. The keywords have been chosen to be relevant to our site, such as "CPU," "PDA," or "digital camera."
If a match is found, a clearly visible advertising linkindicated by a green or yellow double underlineis automatically generated. Some pages will have no links; others may have as many as five.
This technology resides within our Web site; no code or information is passed to your computer, so ContentLink does not compromise your privacy. If you're not using a recent browser such as Internet Explorer 5.0, Netscape 7.2, or Firefox 0.8 or later, you won't see ContentLink links at all.
How Does It Work?
Passing your mouse pointer over a keyword will pop up a small box or "tool tip" that contains a short text advertisement. If you want to find more information, simply click on the keyword as you would any ordinary link, and you'll be taken to the advertiser's site.
If you're not interested in the advertised product or service, simply read on, continuing to use the site as you always haveif you don't scroll over or click on a link, your reading experience will be uninterrupted.
What Do You Think?
We believe this new contextual technology matches both our editorial and commercial goals, but we'd like to hear your thoughts. If you have any questions not answered here, or other feedback about this advertising trial, just send us a message using our feedback form. Though we can't promise individual responses, all input will be read and considered.
